Case study: petrol station traffic monitoring with an ESP32 PLC

Case study of a traffic count at a service station. Electromagnetic transducers in each lane of the road in front, at the entrance and at the exit send every detection by radio to an OpenMote B receiver, which passes it to an ESP32 PLC 21 CORE. The PLC joins the station WiFi and sends the data with Modbus TCP to a server, where Node-RED stores it by hour and shows the stay time, the stop rate and the traffic by zone, time slot and day.

The PDF covers the challenge, the three stages, the system architecture with the signal table and the hardware used. Interactive version: petrol station case study online.
