Case study: conveyor belt speed control with a frequency inverter and an M-Duino 42+

Case study of a conveyor belt driven by an AC induction motor and a frequency inverter. An M-Duino 42+, programmed with the Arduino IDE, sends the speed reference to the inverter on an analog output and reads the motor current from a current sensor on an analog input. A Panel PC on Ethernet shows the live values, changes the speed and has start, emergency stop and speed limit alarm functions.

The PDF covers the challenge, the three loops (set, measure, operate), the system architecture with the signal list and the hardware used. Interactive version: conveyor belt speed control case study online.
