Case study: AI access control with a Raspberry Pi PLC

Case study of an access control system for an office building. The presence sensor in the camera detects a person approaching the entrance or the door of a floor, the AI camera captures the face and an industrial Raspberry Pi based PLC acts as the central controller: it runs the API module that compares the face with the authorised people, opens the door or triggers an alarm to security, and records every access. An internal database keeps validating when there is no internet connection.

The PDF covers the challenge, the decision flow, the system architecture with the data flows and the hardware used. Interactive version: access control case study online.
