Case study: vehicle tracking with GPS, GPRS and Bluetooth on an M-Duino PLC

Case study of a fleet management system with one Industrial Shields Arduino based PLC in each truck, powered from the 12 V supply of the vehicle. Three modules connect to the PLC: a GPS module gives the location, direction and speed, a GPRS module with a SIM card sends the data to a server and a database, and a BT/LE module passes alert messages from headquarters to the mobile phone of the driver. The terminals at headquarters show the fleet in a visual interface, and new trucks join without affecting the system.

The PDF covers the challenge, the three loops (report, message, scale), the system architecture drawn from the scheme of the case with the signal table, and the hardware used. Interactive version: vehicle tracking case study online.
