Case study: conveyor belt speed control with a frequency inverter and an M-Duino 42+
Case study: conveyor belt speed control with a frequency inverter and an M-Duino 42+
Vista previa

Case study of a conveyor belt driven by an AC induction motor and a frequency inverter. An M-Duino 42+, programmed with the Arduino IDE, sends the speed reference to the inverter on an analog output and reads the motor current from a current sensor on an analog input. A Panel PC on Ethernet shows the live values, changes the speed and has start, emergency stop and speed limit alarm functions.

The PDF covers the challenge, the three loops (set, measure, operate), the system architecture with the signal list and the hardware used. Interactive version: conveyor belt speed control case study online.

Case study: automatic car wash with an Arduino PLC
Case study: automatic car wash with an Arduino PLC
Vista previa

Case study of an automatic car wash controlled by one Industrial Shields M-Duino 19R, the relay version of the Arduino Mega based M-Duino family. A load cell (or an infrared sensor) detects the car, the PLC starts the conveyor and three timers run soaping, washing and drying through four relay outputs: soap dosing pump, three brush motors, water pump and drying fan. A limit switch closes the cycle and manual ON and OFF buttons let the operator start or stop the system.

The PDF covers the challenge, the wash sequence, the system architecture with the full signal list and the hardware used. Interactive version: car wash case study online.
