First Steps with MQTT
MQTT is how machine data reaches SCADA systems, historians and cloud platforms. This course explains how publish/subscribe works, how to install and secure an Eclipse Mosquitto broker, and how to connect Arduino, ESP32 and Raspberry PLCs as MQTT clients.
What you will be able to do
- Explain topics, QoS, retained messages and last will, and design a topic structure.
- Install a Mosquitto broker on a PLC and protect it with authentication.
- Publish and subscribe from Arduino and ESP32 PLCs over Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
- Connect a Raspberry PLC as an MQTT client.
Who it is for
Integrators and engineers who bring PLC data to dashboards, SCADA or the cloud. Basic programming knowledge is enough.
See the PLC range at www.industrialshields.com.
