This tiny, multi-functional board ―it can be from a desktop computer to a tablet― supports a variety of operating systems and is ideal for educational environments, Robotics, programming, and even for artificial intelligence.
Until now, Industrial Shields commercialized the Raspberry PI 3+ individually, and also as a central processor of Touchberry Panel PCs 7 and 10.1 ”, which can be connected to any of the programmable logic controllers Arduino of the company. From now on, Industrial Shields is marketing the new version of the board also in all its modalities: alone and integrated into the Touchberry screens for industrial control and monitoring.
Same size, big difference
On first thought, Raspberry PI 4 is similar to PI 3 B +, both in size and terms of components. However, the new PI 4 promises three times higher performance. Thanks to a more powerful, modern processor than the previous one, the Raspberry PI Foundation team assures that this is a system fast enough to compete with the most basic x86 PC processors. PI 4 also incorporates a large increase in RAM (with a configuration of up to 4 GB) and speed: jumping from LPDDR2 to LPDDR4 is a clear improvement.
Unlike PI 3 B +, two of the four USB ports of PI 4 are 3.0 (faster than 2.0). In addition, this latest version of Raspberry board offers the possibility of sending 4K image to two different monitors. Thanks to the new Broadcom 1.5 GHz quad-core processor with H.265 decoder and two micro HDMI ports, the new PI 4 can be connected simultaneously to two 4K monitors and run at 60 fps.
About the connection, in addition to Bluetooth 5.0, PI 4 has an unconstrained Gigabit Ethernet. This allows the user to download and upload content to the network faster, this means that users can execute AI tasks and Remote processing without any problems. Regarding network, PI 4 is equipped with 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi connection so it is compatible with WiFi standards. The current power connector is USB Type C instead of the micro-USB of the previous models, and it also has a Gigabit Ethernet port with PoE HAT.
Apart from being a silent, energy-efficient device, the features of Raspberry PI 4 make it perfect for IoT (Internet of Things) designs.
