First Steps with LoRa
LoRa lets you connect devices that no cable or cellular network can reach: remote tanks, pumping stations, irrigation, distributed machines. This course explains how LoRa and LoRaWAN work and how to use them with Industrial Shields PLCs, from a first point-to-point link to a device sending data to The Things Network.
What you will be able to do
- Decide when LoRa or LoRaWAN is the right technology, and understand its limits (range, data rate, duty cycle).
- Use the Industrial Shields LoRa library on Arduino, ESP32 and Raspberry PLCs.
- Set up a point-to-point LoRa link between two PLCs.
- Register a device in a LoRaWAN network and send data from a PLC.
Who it is for
System integrators and engineers who monitor remote assets or spread devices over large sites. Basic programming knowledge is enough.
See the PLC range at www.industrialshields.com.
