Raspberry PLC CPU-Gateway: Raspberry Pi edge controller with dual Ethernet and dual RS-485
The Raspberry PLC CPU-Gateway is the Raspberry PLC processing module from Industrial Shields without local I/O zones. It has two Ethernet ports, two RS-485 ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE, USB, a real-time clock and a UPS that shuts Linux down safely on power loss. It runs Debian 64-bit, so it works as an edge controller, Modbus or MQTT gateway or data concentrator programmed in Python, Node-RED or C/C++.
You are viewing the FLEX version. Configurable: 2, 4 or 8 GB RAM, plus one CAN, LoRa or 4G board.

Before you choose the Raspberry PLC CPU-Gateway
How much RAM does it have?
You choose 2, 4 or 8 GB when you configure it.
How do I program it?
It ships with Debian 64-bit. Connect by SSH to 10.10.10.20 (eth0) and use Python, Node-RED, C/C++ or shell scripts. Industrial Shields libraries give direct access to the inputs and outputs.
Can I add I/O to it?
Yes. Add remote I/O over Modbus RTU with moduleX, or choose a Raspberry PLC model with local I/O such as the 21 or 38R.
What happens on a power failure?
The built-in UPS keeps the Raspberry Pi running long enough to shut Linux down cleanly, so the SD card and your data are not corrupted. The real-time clock keeps the time with its own battery.
Can it do CAN, LoRa or 4G?
Yes, with one optional expansion board: CAN, LoRa or 4G (LTE-M/NB-IoT or LTE Cat 4).
