Access control system with AI
An office building has implemented an access control system for its employees using a presence sensor.
The aim is to ensure that only authorised employees and people can access the building and their respective floors, thus preventing unauthorised individuals from entering.
Implementation
Implementing a security system with smart cameras and AI technology provides the peace of mind needed to run a business without security concerns.
This type of system can be designed to automatically detect and recognise certain types of behaviour, increasing the effectiveness of surveillance and helping to prevent unwanted incidents.
Presence sensor
Using the presence sensor included in the camera, the image of the face of the person approaching the entrance of the building or the access door of each floor is captured.
Artificial Intelligence
Upon detecting the presence of a person, the camera captures an image of the person's face through an AI (Artificial Intelligence) camera and sends it to the system for analysis.
Verification
The system compares the image with a database of authorised faces and verifies whether the person has permission to enter the building or floor in question.
Opening mechanism
If the facial recognition system identifies the person as authorised, the corresponding door opening mechanism is activated.
Alarm
If not, an alarm is triggered and an alert is sent to the security officers for further action.
Storage server
A storage server has also been integrated for employee access-related information, such as identification, name, job title and access permissions.
Tracking
Employees are then tracked to generate access reports. If an employee is found to have entered with unusual objects, such as parcels or bags, this activity is recorded for further analysis.
Operation diagram
In this process, sockets are used to send the results and compare them with a client server. The set of authorised people is stored on the server and compared with the visitors to validate whether they have access or not.
On the other hand, an internal database allows the same action in case of no internet connection. This makes it possible to identify people who tried to be validated but were not recognised by the system.
Benefits of AI-Based Access Control Solutions with Raspberry PLC industrial controller
Security
Protection against theft or intruders. In addition, the privacy of employees is guaranteed, as no personal information, such as fingerprints, is captured.
Cost savings
As no additional security guards are required, ID cards are avoided and security system costs are reduced.
Access registration
The entry and exit times of workers are recorded, facilitating the management of timetables and ensuring that they are complied with.
Time savings
Workers quickly access the areas of the office to which they have access, allowing them to be more productive in their work.
Granular access
There is control over who can access areas, so only those authorised can move according to customised levels.
Customised system
Personalisation of the system by providing different levels of access to employees according to their role and responsibility in the company.
