Introduction

Sensors are a fundamental factor for getting data in the IoT and IIoT sector, since they simulate the 5 senses of the human being, in addition to many other much more powerful characteristics such as the capture of the level of PH, CO2, among others.

Let's see a top 25 with examples of the most common multiple sensors in IoT!

What is IOT?

Briefly, we will say that IoT, or Internet of Things, is known as the digital interconnection of people, animals and things with the Internet.
We will not extend much with the technical explanation, because we will give a brief example, with which we expect to understand perfectly.

To give an example with a simple camera, to extract the photos from a common camera, you would have to connect the camera to a PC, and from there, move the photos from one device to another.

With the Internet of Things, in this same camera in the example, no connection to a PC would be necessary, as it would be the same camera that would send the photos or data themselves to the cloud.

What are IOT sensors?

IoT sensors are devices that convert input signals, such as temperature, humidity, pressure, etc. into an electrical signal that can be measured and interpreted by electronic devices, and is capable of being stored in a database for later use and processing.

If in an aplication, a motion detector sensor, for example, would be placed close to the camera. By detecting movement with the sensor, the camera would take a photo and it would be instantly sent wherever you wanted via the internet.

Examples of sensors

Do you wonder how many sensors are there in IoT? And would you like to know how do IoT sensors work?

Check this list out and discover them!

1.- Proximity sensors  sensing objects relative to the sensor

2.- Contact sensors  sensing objects in contact with the sensor
