What it is
GateBerry is an industrial IoT gateway based on Raspberry Pi and Linux. It connects field devices, PLCs and sensors to local platforms, remote systems and cloud environments. It is a communication and integration device — it has no industrial field I/O.
When to use it
- When the goal is data acquisition, protocol bridging or OT-to-IT integration
- When an existing PLC handles control and a separate device is needed for data aggregation and upstream communication
- When 4G, LoRaWAN, GPS, M-BUS or CAN connectivity is required in a Linux-based device
- When the deployment is communication-focused with no direct field control requirement
When not to use it
- When direct field I/O control is required — use a Raspberry Pi PLC, ESP32 PLC or Arduino PLC instead
- When a local touchscreen HMI is needed — use TouchBerry Pi instead
Compatibility and relationships
| Compatible with | M-Duino, ESP32 PLC, Raspberry Pi PLC, third-party Modbus devices, any RS485 or Ethernet field device |
