Hello dear Industrial Shields,
I would like to know which is the function of the switches located next to the outputs. I understand that these switches let me choose between the Analog or Digital mode, but do I have to use different pins?
In the documentation I have also seen that for example Q0.5 and A0.5 are the same pin. Can I use then at the same time or only one option is allowed? How do I specify this difference in my Arduino IDE sketch using your boards?
These switches let you choose between the analog outpur or the digital output. If it is in ON mode it is selected for the digital mode, so you will have to use the Q0.5 pin instead of the A0.5. Otherwise if you select the Analog mode (OFF position) the analog output will appear in A0.5 instead of Q0.5
The main purpose of these switches is to avoid using both configurations (Analog/Digital) at the same time. Take in consideration that for using the analog outputs it is only required to have the PLC supplied at 12 to 24Vdc. In the other hand if you want to use the digital outputs, you will have to provide a 2nd supply only for the digital outputs. The outputs supply pins are located next to the digital outputs.
to work with these outputs using our boards you will have to use Q0_5 for the digital mode and A0_5 for the analog mode.
